Comfort for Our 2020 World: The Joy of Coming to Know Our Sin and Misery
In order to live and die in the joy of our only comfort, we must come to know about our sin and misery. We first need to understand what is meant by the terms: sin and misery. Sins are those acts man commits in rebellion against God. Misery is both the spiritual and physical punishment which God inflicts upon the rebellion of man.
Our 2020 generation has managed to replace the term "sin" with words like: choice, alternate lifestyle, gender fluidity or identity, and human rights. But we haven't managed to erase the spiritual or physical misery attached to those terms. Nor have we found any true comfort or joy.

Spiritual Misery:
-the heart of man becomes hard; man hates God.
-the mind of man becomes darkened; man becomes foolish in his thinking, no longer knowing God.
-the will of man becomes enslaved to evil, with the result that man is inclined only and always to evil.
Physical Misery:
-the body of man becomes subject to sickness, pain, and ultimately to death.
-the nature of the earth's environment is also cursed, resulting in natural disasters, such as earthquakes, floods, cyclones, droughts, etc..
-the animal kingdom is also cursed, with the result that animals have turned in hostility against man and against each other.
