What Your Earthly Father Can't Do, God Can!

Jesus knows that if we trust and look up to God the way a young child trusts and looks up to his father, we will be much more likely to come to God in prayer.

A very young child believes his father can fix anything and can do anything. He doesn’t worry that his father won’t want to be bothered, but runs to him with everything he needs. This is the attitude of childlike trust and awe that Jesus wants us to have when we bring our requests to God.

King Jehoshaphat couldn’t do what he was supposed to do as king of Judah. He couldn’t protect his people from the great enemy army that was coming against them. So he prayed, confident that, what he couldn’t do, God could do. 2 Chronicles 20:12 and Psalm 131.
