Infatuation with the Woke Church
Today's infatuation with the "woke church" movement has deprived the church of right judgment and has swung her right off her balance. Infatuation is defined as inspiration with a foolish, extravagant love or admiration: it is inspiration deprived of sound judgment. If we Christians would look back on our past history with God, we would see where we have been infatuated, and we would understand how easy it is to become infatuated as well with this movement.
The woke church is made up of many who became disenchanted with the church's failure to socially engage the culture. However, more often than not in their past history, these same folks have personally fallen into sin against God and do not want to get up; they have turned away from God and do not want to return. Instead, they made the choice to cling to deceit instead of personally repenting of their wickedness. The few voices in the Church who speak from God's side are outbalanced by a thousand who speak on the side that is infatuated - infatuated with the temporal fictitious cure of the woke church to relieve the pain of injustice.
The Church needs Christian workers who have the courage of the Holy Spirit to face life and its injustice from God's standpoint. We have to keep our hearts and minds faced with the awful condition apart from the Cross of Christ. We must get into our souls the iron of God which makes us strong enough to present Jesus Christ to others rather than becoming infatuated with a movement that is deprived of sound judgment.
When there is no personal genuine shame and repentance. God cannot forgive sin. He cannot remain God on any other footing than the atoning death of Jesus Christ.
