Coffee, Tea, and Bits of Truth
It is my sense that the Black Lives Matter movement is not a movement for justice; it is the hand of God's wrath stretched out against a nation that has forsaken Him.
“Son of man, when a land sins against Me by committing a trespass, . . . though these three men, Noah, Daniel, and Job were in it, they should deliver but their own souls by their righteousness, says the Lord God. Ezekiel 14:13–14
The question for the Christian today is, "Will my involvement in the Black Lives Matter social justice movement leave me standing with God in the end or going the wrong way with the crowd?" The intense anguish of the godly is that in the final end they are decreed by God to stand with Him instead of with those who are going the wrong way. Will we be the faithful remnant - of Noahs, Daniels, and Jobs - standing with God instead of the crowd of Black Lives Matter that is going the wrong way?
Do we have a greater desire to see earthly justice for the Breonna Taylors of the world more than a desire to see God save them? Then we are in danger of standing with those who are going the wrong way. And in the final end, we will not be able to join the faithful saints Noah, Daniel, and Job in standing with God against the crowd. It is not, “No matter what happens to the crowd, we will be all right”; the point is that the saint longs - would go through condemnation itself, if only men might be saved.
Do we possess the same prayerful heart attitude as Moses and Paul for those who are caught up in the BLM movement? Are we praying for God's deliverance for the morally depraved who are terrorizing our cities? Or, are we choosing to sympathize with their false narrative and to even justify their false claims of racism and white privilege? “Yet now, if You will forgive their sin—; and if not, blot me, I pray, out of Your book which You have written” (Exodus 32:32). “For I could wish that myself were accursed from Christ for my brethren” (Romans 9:3).
We only see these great truths bit by bit, the peril is to shut up our minds and say there is nothing in them.
